| Men Tsee Khang has initiated the proposal for a new medical university in Chauntra. Norwegian authorities represented by the Norwegian Embassy in Delhi, India, are responsible for funding the proposal. This includes a site analysis and an outline for a master plan. Feste Landscape Architects have been commissioned as consultants, leading the planning process and the production of the plans.
From 20.-30. April 2009 Feste Landscape Architects visited India. The visit was initiated in order to complete the survey of the Chauntra area and to commence the site analysis. During the visit, fieldwork and a survey at Chauntra were completed and important meetings were held. One of these meetings took place at Men Tsee Khang in Dharamsala, and other meetings and a mini seminar were held at the Norwegian Embassy in Delhi. The director of Men Tsee Khang was also present at this mini seminar, where the preliminary site analysis was presented. On their return to Norway Feste Landscape Architects completed a detailed digitisation of the area, an outline for a master plan, a final site analysis and a project brief. Further on when the proposal is completed, a main project which also involve architects together with landscapearchitects and other consultants, will be necessarry before the project is built. The main project will be based on this proposal with site analysis and an outline for a masterplan.
